Iron Dominion

★★★★☆ 4.2 Editor rating

Iron Dominion drops you on a contested frontier where you build, defend, and slowly expand. What sets it apart from the usual strategy crowd is how much the defensive layout matters — bad wall placement will sink you no matter how many resources you hoard.

The campaign missions are genuinely puzzly, each one asking you to solve a specific tactical problem. Skirmish mode is where the replay value lives, with randomized maps that force you to adapt your usual plans. Menus are clean and the tutorial doesn't drown you.

It's not perfect — some mid-game progression stalls can feel slow — but the core loop is smart and the AI is surprisingly aggressive on higher difficulties.
