Short mobile games that respect your time
There's a quiet pleasure in finishing something. Between sprawling open worlds and endless live-service treadmills, I've started gravitating toward games I can actually complete in a weekend.
Hollowreach is my go-to example. It's maybe six hours long and it uses every one of them. Nothing is padded. By the end you feel like you've experienced a complete thing, not a sampler.
Short doesn't mean shallow. A tight five-hour adventure with no filler often sticks with me longer than a eighty-hour RPG I quit at the halfway point out of exhaustion.
If your backlog stresses you out, try a few short ones. Finishing something, anything, is a surprisingly good cure for games fatigue.
